Pat Gaines

Pat Gaines (1938-2020) worked 22 years in the Lincoln County, Oklahoma, courthouse and retired in 2003 after running the County Election Board for many years. Pat and her husband Jerry were married for 61 years. They had two children and three grandchildren.

She taught an adult Bible Study class for over forty years in the Sparks First Baptist Church. She was a talented artist, who painted on any surface could she find from canvases to rocks to figurines to feathers and more. She worked in many types of artistic crafts, including jewelry and 3-D wire art. She conducted ancestry research for her own family and many others.

She had an inquiring mind and was always learning new things. Publications included the children’s picture book O. O. Octopus (illustrated in full color by David Simon) and the non-fiction historical biography The Journal of Amos Hannah.
